New Site Launched

It seems like change is the only constant in life. So, while Bludomain was having such a great sale on all their web templates, we joined the rush to purchase a new site. We've worked hard over the last couple of weeks to get the site launched and hope that everyone enjoys the new look. This site will give us a little more freedom to show off more of our brides and photos.

This new site is even more special since our splash page contains two of our favorite relatives! Cousin David and his beautiful wife Samantha got married in December 2007 and we were lucky to be there and take part in their joyful day. Like many other young couples today just starting out, we wish them the best in their future together.

Lake Lure - Assisting Regina Holder

On August 16th, I had the privilege again of helping out Regina Holder as a second photographer at the private wedding of Lauren and Spencer held in Lake Lure, NC. The couple, both song writer/singers from Nashville, TN came to get married at the home of a friend. Lauren is also the host of CMT's "Custom Built". The wedding was simple, yet elegant, releasing butterflies at the end of the ceremony. These two will surely continue to create beautiful music together!

Beach Boys at the Biltmore Estate

Every summer the Biltmore Estate holds outdoor concerts on the South Terrace of the estate. This year we were lucky enough to get tickets to the sold out Beach Boys concert. If it weren't for our niece Nicole we probably would have missed going. But, she is a die hard concert fan and made sure that we got our tickets as soon as they went on sale. The sunset was gorgeous that night, the concert was great, and the company was even better.

Claxton Farm - Assisting Regina Holder

On August 10th, I had the privilege of working with Regina Holder again as a second shooter for Molly and Michael's wedding held at Claxton Farm in Weaverville, NC. The wedding was beautiful and the send off was a spectacular event with a helicopter picking up the bride and groom to fly them off into the sunset. Having my own private pilots license and being an avid student of aviation, I almost forgot to snap the images upon seeing the helicopter coming in for a landing. Evidently the Groom and his groomsmen are longstanding friends and each tries to outmaneuver the next one when it comes to their weddings. There's only one lone single man left and it's going to be tough for him to top this one! I wish him luck!

Working with Regina is such fun and she's keeping me on the run! I truly appreciate her letting me tag along for the ride.

It's Been A While!

It's been a while since I've been out here posting. Like everyone else I'm going to use the excuse of being busy with everything life has to dish out to us. The winter, spring and summer has been full of engagements, weddings, and family reunions just to mention a few things.

This spring and summer, I've been helping out a fellow photographer and friend, Regina Holder. I've had a great time working with her as she's always a positive person and has a smile ready for anyone she meets. She's been a tremendous influence and great friend. I truly appreciate everything that she's done for me and look forward to working together in the future.

Kellie & Chris

This May I had the opportunity of working with Kellie and Chris Sorrells. They had a beautiful wedding and reception at Lake Junaluska. This had to be one of the most fun weddings that I have had the privilege of photographing. Kellie kept everyone in stitches most of the time with her continuous jokes and smiles. I thought it would take us forever to get the family portraits finished because just a look from her and she had someone doubling over with laughter. And the fun continued into the reception. As you can see from the final photo, Chris had to finally carry her away!!

Good luck Kellie and Chris and we hope you have a wonderful future together!

Hilary & Jeremiah

In May, we had the pleasure of working with a bride and her navy man! Hilary and Jeremiah walked down the aisle (or sidewalk) at the Richmond Hill Inn. The setting was beautiful and for a while we thought that it might rain, but thankfully, the weather held. The afternoon started with a tea being held in the Richmond Hill Inn. This occupied the guests while the bride put on the finishing touches. Then the party moved down to the gardens where the ceremony was held.
Hilary and Jeremiah are very attached to their family pets and included them in the festivities. Everyone was made to feel a part of the family. Afterwards, the reception carried on into the wee hours of the night until the bride and groom could slip away.

The couple had a Hawaiian theme with the bouquets being shipped from Hawaii and made from the hawaiian flower plumeria and leis for family members. Needless to say, I felt like I was back on the islands again. It was absolutely spectacular. We wish them lots of happiness and a wonderful future together.
