Think Spring!

Just a few more short weeks until Spring! This is the time of the year I enjoy the most. You can look all around you for signs of new life on mother earth. The trees are beginning to bud with new life, early spring flowers are pushing up from a long winter's nap, and the birds are warming up their songs of love to give a grand and gloroius welcome to Spring 2007!

Even though winter is usually a time I can catch my breath, we have been busily consulting new clients and booking brides for the 2007 wedding season. I'm very excited about the weddings we have booked so far! Some amazing people have honored me with capturing their special moments.

I can't begin to tell you in words how much I love being a wedding photojournalist. There's just a magic that is present at weddings that you never experience at any other event. The magic is being part of that special couple's event where their emotions and love for each are proudly displayed, unlike any other time in a couples life together. This magic energizes me to give my very best for hours on end. Now, this magic doesn't end after the wedding for me. It follows me all the way through post production work, editing all those fantastic photographs that have preserved that client's wedding day forever. Even long after the wedding, I can review my work and still feel the magic of each and every couple's wedding I have been privileged to capture!

What ever your dreams and goals are in life, I urge you to pursue them with a passion! "When against all odds in the pursuit of your passions, Don't give up; for the next step you take could be the one that answers your dreams! "

This is my first attempt at creating a blog. I was encouraged to create my blog by a photographer that I greatly admire, Corey McNabb !

I have always loved photographing beautiful landscapes and wild life. Living nearly in the middle of the Great Smokey Mountains gives you plenty of opportunities to capture wonderful images.

I never imagined that my passion for nature photography would lead me to photographing weddings. Just like most photographers, I was asked by a friend to photograph her wedding. In this case, my wonderful wife was asking for one our friends. I told her that I didn't think I was capable. Keep in mind that photographing people on the move was far more dangerous than a tree in the forest.

After a couple of weeks of extreme pressure I gave in and agreed to photograph the wedding. I immediately bought every book, and magazine I could find on the subject of Wedding Photography. Then I surfed the world wide web for more information. After about a month of intense reading, I really began to feel that I had made a terrible decision in agreeing to photograph our friend’s wedding. A couple’s wedding is one of those milestones’in life they will always remember. I didn’t want our friend’s to have under go intense therapy after they seen the horrible wedding images that I had produced. I had convinced myself that I wasn’t capable of producing great wedding images.

My wife has always believed more in me and my abilities than I do. She skillfully managed to calm me down, and to reassure me that I could in fact, photograph this wedding and do a fantastic job of it.

The day finally came when our friends forever committed themselves to each other, and yours truly was there to photograph this grand occasion. Once I began to click off images of this beautiful moment, something magically took over in me. I felt such a peace within my inner self that is hard to explain. All I know is that wedding changed me and my ideas about wedding photography forever!

It was an excitement like I had never before felt behind the camera. My photographer friends described it best, “Danny, you found you’re passion!” They were right. I had truly found something that I was completely passionate about.

So the journey began! I’ve been studying all the great wedding photographers of today such as: Joe Buissink,Dennis Reggie,Mike Colon, and Corey McNabb to name a few. These modern day masters give me inspiration to continually improve and perfect my skills as a photographer of beautiful moments in life.

Well that’s it about it for now, I hope you will continue to check in from time to time and follow us through this wonderful journey of life!
